Prevent truncation of the file extension for attachments having "long" file names

Hello,

Does anyone know a solution to this? Whenever there is a long file name, the file extension gets truncated, leaving the user in mystery, what kind of file it is? Ideally we do not want to change the 100 max character limit for the file name. Please help if you can. TIA

Here is an older thread with no accepted solution.

Hi @Snow Angel ,

Unfortunately we have a limitation here.

The attached file will not be effected. It can be used (view/download) further as the file name doesn't show up in the UI only, back end it remains the same (along with extension). { Example: if you are attaching it to a incident, then the whole file name will reflect in the activity/worknotes}

The file name will be visible till 100 characters and rest will be truncated.

Hi Sandeep,

It appears to be showing the file extension in activity log on Incidents, RITMs etc. shown below

but does'nt seem to doing the same for Audit Tasks, shown below. Where can this be changed? so the behavior is same as Incidents and RITMs.
