Hi there,
We would like to work with bilingual knowledge articles in our organization (English and Dutch versions).
However, it seems that providing a bilingual item is somewhat different than, for example, a bilingual Catalog Item:
- Catalog Item: Switch language and enter the content in the language you switched to.
- Knowledge article: To write an article in English, start a new article with the language setting to "English" and the body of the article in English.
To write a Dutch article, you also start a new article, but make the English article parent of the Dutch article.
The reader of one of the articles can then switch to the article in the other language via the look-up list.
Is this correct? If so, is there a better/nicer way to provide bilingual articles, without having to create and manage 2 articles per language per article? A disadvantage of the current design is that when you retire the parent article, the child article is not included.
Thanks for the reply.
