We are currently running SN Dublin. We are working through defining our servers with their Room, Row, Rack and Rack U on each CI.
We want to avoid using Excel spreadsheets to show our inventory\rack space management. And with the information captured in ServiceNow it seems like it would be fairly easy to show a Rack View or Rack Elevation.
Has anyone figured out how to do this in SN? Even if you are using an outside tool. There must be some way to access and display this kind of data.
Thanks,
Kevin

That would be really cool. I have not seen Rack Elevations done with the CMDB. It would be cool if someone built a plugin or app that does that. I am sure that you can export SN CMDB data to an external software that does this and it should be able to populate a chart like that from the data. You can export as XML or CSV so Im sure they take input data in those formats. I'd like to hear if anyone did that as well. Thanks

I believe that was part of Verisign's Innovation of the Year winning data center application: (pg 33 of this pdf: https://www.servicenow.com/content/dam/servicenow/other-documents/ebook/downloads/A_Showcase_of_Cust... )
Not sure how they did it, looks like the visual component of it may have been quite advanced configuration.

Thanks Guy.
That is exactly what I'm looking for. I'll have to see what additional info I can find on that solution.

Hey Kevin,
Did you ever find any more information about this? We are also looking for a similar solution.
