Anyone know how I can hide the New button on All "Configuration Item Lists" from Users. I dont want any users except admin, or other designated roles (Like Import roles) creating new CIs. I tried going to the cmdb_ci.list and applying admin role to the Edit option by personalizing the list control, but that only hid it for some of the CIs.

So I took some pointers from this post ,, Make Configuration Management as Read only for ITIL Users ,, I went to System Security > Access Control, and put cmdb_ ci in the search. It returned some entries, one of which was for the 'create' operation.
If you scroll to the bottom, there there is the "requires role" section. There were two roles allowed. Itil and Assett. I edited that and removed the itil user and added admin. This worked for what I needed. It removed the Edit button from all CIs for users that didnt have the admin or assett role; However; upon testing I noticed that my two ITIL users who did inventory and Software Software licencing could no longer see the Inventory Application. I can just give them the asset role.
I am just wondering what else got affected. I have a user that has some import roles to allow him to import CIs into SN on a weekly basis thru the automated import process. Will that be affected? I can get with him and test that, but what else is affected by restricting access to creating CIs in the way I did?
