Report created on v_rotation table does not populate without running the report manually using the On-call Rotation Schedule Report.

I want to display who is on-call for a current day for a team on their dashboard. I created a report on v_rotation table. The report doesn't populate the data without manually running the on-call rotation schedule report. Does anyone have a workaround for this?

Any progress on this one? The only thing I was able to do was follow a similar script online but the information it provides in the email looks kind of wonky.
