Rich text editor in Incidents

Hi Team,

For Incidents we would like to have Rich text editor for "Description" field both in provider view as well as in end user portal.

Can you provide us the information on how to change to Rich text editor.

Hi there,

Do you perhaps mean like having an "HTML" type field? Have you considered changing the Description field to this type?

Be aware this has larger impact, since this probably is a field on the task table.

So on the Dictionary Entry of Description field, update this field from String into HTML:

Hi Santhoshi.

It is better to create a new Field instead of changing the field type of the existing Description field. Because in all the task-based tables the change will be reflected.

You can create a new field with field type as HTML and change the label of that field to "Description" and remove the existing Description field from the form using the list layout.

I have an HTML field for an Incident and when I add data to that field which contains some bullet points , After submitting the requests it is not retaining the same format .

For Example if i give below data in my HTML field

And After submitting the incident my field data is coming as

find_real_file.png

 

For Requests after submitting the requests it is retaining the same format only for incidents it is not showing the same format.

Any suggestion for this will be helpful .
