I'm currently investigating the "Search by keyword" functionality on the My Requests page.
At the moment, this page is no longer using the my_requests page as before, but is instead using the ec_requests page.
The customer has a few questions regarding the search behavior:
Which fields on the sc_req_item table are currently included in the search?
I reviewed the ServiceNow documentation and found that certain field types are excluded from text search.However, during testing, I noticed that some fields such as Choice, Integer, etc. are also not searchable, even though they are not listed among the excluded field types.
I'd like to better understand which fields are actually indexed and used by the keyword search.Is there a minimum character requirement for keyword searches?
For example:- Record Number: RITM0010515
- Search: 0515 → No results found
- Search: 10515 → Record found
I'd like to confirm whether there is any minimum character limit or other search constraints that affect the results.
How does the keyword matching mechanism work?
In the example above, why does 10515 return the record while 0515 does not, even though both are substrings of RITM0010515?
If anyone has previously worked with or investigated the ec_requests page and its search implementation, I would appreciate any insights or references.
