Ok,
I really thought this would be simple.
I've setup our service catalog. I've added the categories I want seen. But why can't I add icons to the category widgets on the service catalog page?
Why is my only choice to "upload" new images? When I setup the portal, I simply added an image/icon from what resides somewhere in my instance.
From the Category page, if I click on, Desktop image, Icon, or Header icon I'm sent to "Choose an image file" with a [Choose File] button, that takes me to my local (machine's) hard drive.
What the hey? Why can't I just select from a list of available images/icon within my instance? Like I did with the portal widgets?
C'mon man, really?

I suppose because category "icons" are not really icons, but full fledged images and are stored in the attachments table and it would be wired for the system to let you pick one of the millions of gifs, pngs, jpegs, and whatnot saved from all those incoming e-mail signatures as attachments.
All in all, in portal in many pages the images are just CSS and special fonts, while in the catalog the "icons" are "real" pictures. Also those could be highly customer specific, so how could SN pre-load category pictures?

I still think it's a bit annoying that I can't simply find and use imaging that already exists within the platform. So ok, I'll just find and upload imaging from other places. 😐
