SLA Schedules Timezones?

In setting the SLA Schedule Timezones, if you use EST do all the folks who would fall under that need to use EST in their profile for it to take effect?   For instance if someone uses US/Eastern and someone else Canada/Eastern   will the schedule defined to use timezone EST apply?

So if I understand correctly.   We make the Schedule say Weekdays, 7am to 7:30pm be a floating time schedule. so that the members of the assignment group locations will fall into play when they are in their Weekdays from 7am to 7:30pm.     Now to apply the holiday schedules we would tie each holiday to the single work schedule?
