Stop the session from timing out on a specific form or application?

In general the standard session timeout is fine.   However, there is one customized application (specifically, one form) that takes a long time to fill out, and we would like to disable the session timeout function when on this page (filling out the form).   Does anyone know how to do this?

Thank you

Hi Ron,

Which browser version you are using. I know In the past we had issues with IE.

Hello Ron,

If I understand your issue, you want to have a form open for a very long time while someone fills it in.   Am I correct?

There's one trick I've used in the past to keep my sessions from timing out and this may work for you too.

In the same browser as you use for the form, open a separate window to display your home page.   Make sure you set your homepage to refresh periodically to maintain your session.   The time to refresh should be set to less than the time to expire your session.

The one caveat is that sessions continue to timeout after about 5 hours with this trick.   So I also implemented an UI page with an iframe which forces refreshes using the browser.   The iframe has kept session alive indefinitely as far as I can tell.

Good luck!
