Table field ignored when importing to a choice list

Hi I am a beginner so slowly learning.

I have an issue when importing a xls file into a choice list. The steps I followed below

Create an xls file as per below and saving

Xls.JPG

Right click and show choices and right click on bar to import

choices.JPG

Insert - select the file and click "Import"

import.JPG

It shows success with 8 and none missed

uploadsuccess.JPG

When I preview I get an error that table field is ignored as it does not exist in destination table

As per screenshot the Table field is (empty)

empty table.JPG

I can manually edit the Table values to the correct table (hr_case) and all is fine, however I have some choice lists (example created sub category) which have over 100 rows (with different dependent values to category) and I don't want to manually edit 100+ every time.

This is happening in my personal Developers instance and I know it should work as I can successfully perform the import in our work dev instance and the Table field is not ignored and is populated - work instance is also Fuji.

Other steps I have tried are doing an update as opposed to an insert by creating an excel template -

When I open the Template the Table column is not there.

Any ideas or assistance would be appreciated

Thanks

Andrew

I recommended Transform map only to fix your issue soon.It is just an alternative solution. I also wanted to know the problem with your instance. For troubleshooting purpose, Can you please check in the sys_choice table whether hr_case table is present or not. If it is available, then check whether any value is there in the table and also restriction like ACL is there on that field

Hi Ajai

Thanks for your help

As a learner can you advise the steps to check this?

I have located the Choice table, how and where do I check if the hr_case table is present?

Thanks

I think you are already aware of that table because you have provided that screenshot at first. If not then you can open the table by entering sys_choice.LIST in the navigation filter on the left side of serviceNow.

Or Since you have located the table , you can open from there also ,go down and click on 'Show List' related link. Then that table will be opened.

After opening the table list, Give a filter like table is hr_case.

If that table is there then you will get some records like as shown belowCapture.PNG

Thanks Ajai

The table is there and has Values as per below

hrcasetable.JPG

The ACL shown below

As mentioned earlier I reset and wiped my instance and tried the import on the category in the Incident (itil) module and with the same results, the table column is missing in the export

Hi Bailey,

Please make sure that there are no spaces after the hr_case table name.

Actually the above error will come when we are trying to import the data and the value doesn't exist. You should also check for the system name(like the system name of server is cmdb_ci_server) of the table(into which you are importing data).

You can also use transform map for loading the data.

Thanks & Regards,
