Unable to increase maximum width of reference field

Hi,

I set reference field from table 1, to table 2.

It not showing the the exact data in table 2, due to maximum length its trimmed the data. When I tried to change the length I got the below popup.

"Maximum length cannot be increased on a Reference type field"

Please assist me to fix this.

Hi,

I just tried in demo.I can able to change the size to 50 and it's showing 50 character too.Try again to change the size else try what javier suggested.

Hi,

I did what Javier suggested and it worked. Kind of. It has the effect that the lenght of the display field increases but the buttons for selecting the reference stayed in the same place. So now the text is behind those buttons (see screenshot).

Any idea how to fix this?

Oh well. I solved it myself.

I did not use the width as pixels but rather as percentage (width:XXX%;) which led to the field being displayed like that.
