Update Set created in wrong application - how do I move it?

Hi folks,

I've created an Update Set in TEST, created some catalogue items and noticed later that I had created them in the incorrect application.  How do I move the update set I've created into a different application so that I don't have to re-do my work?  Thanks.

Hi, Okay I have that option available on my client instance. But if you are not getting that option then go to update set where you captured entry's ..go to customer updates and open entry's on saperate window ..and see there should be option to field to capture into that update set.and make it available to new update set and update. OR Open that record and just do something changes recorded entries and update (like give space and remove space.)and update Check you got new entry in newly created update set. Thanks

Hi SNOW, thanks for your response.  I used a workaround instead, as noted in my reply to Shekhar.  I will look into your new suggestion as time permits.  Thanks very much for your time and assistance.

Hello Trish,

Please find the attachment moving changes entries from wrong update set:

1.Select your update set where you made entries (your wrong update set)
2. Open your wrong update set where you made entries wronged one:
3. Then select the single entry and Open it. Once you open it show xml form page.
4. Select the update set Lookup button currently it shows your current update set. The same entry you can move to another update set where you want it that update set name you can select there.
5. Just save and update. The selected record will move to correct update set that you want.
This is a time-consuming solution however if you do not more entries then you can do one by one.

2nd Solution Option (in this option you are not able to select Indviduals entries).

1.You need to complete your update set and export to xml format save it on desktop.

The xml file will download on your system.

2.Then try to retrieve it using Import update set from XML.

After retrieved XML file you can able to see update set into a retrived format

Hope this will work for you please Mark as Answer correct Or Helpful.

Thanks,

Hi Shekhar, thank you for your help.  I tried this option and did not find the Lookup button and was not able to follow these instructions very well.

In the end, I found a workaround.  I was able to determine from the contents of the update set what work I did and mostly I had made a number of catalogue items disabled but had created ONE catalogue item.  I was able to figure out which one and then, in the new update set in the correct application, I copied the catalogue item that had been created in the update set in the wrong application.  This recreated the catalogue item in the update set in the correct application.

This didn't resolve the issue of an update set created in an incorrect application, however if I had more time and if the work I'd done in the update set was more extensive, I would have explored your suggestion further.  I still have the incorrect update set and I will continue to look at this as time permits.

Thank you for your help!
