Who is the 'event creator' in reference to approval of a 'change request' ?

Came across a notification where it has a check box saying- "send to event creator". Can anyone help to find out a place in servicenow where it clarifies it.

If you are event generator for that particular notification and if above checkbox is not checked, that email will not be triggered even if meets all the conditions. For example there is and notification that triggers when an incident is assigned to a person and above 'Send to event creator' check box is not checked. In this case if I go in and assign the incident to myself, I will not receive above mentioned notification as I am the event creator. I hope it clarifies your question.

Thanks Abdul ! My question here is- how to determine 'event creator' in this scenario:

1. A Change request of RFC type Minor is created by user "A"

2. it is assigned to a change group "grp" which has 3 members- B,C, and D

3.approval mails are sent, based on the notification where "send to event creator" is checked

4.change is assigned to member- "C"

So who is the event creator here A,B,C, or D ?

The "Send to event creator" isn't used to add people to the list of recipients. The event creator is the person who triggers the event. So from your example, this is user A as they are the one assigning it to the group "grp" and causing the update that triggers the event.

If it's set to true and user A is on the recipient list, they will receive the email. Likewise, if it's set to false, they will not receive the email.

All other users on the recipient list will receive the email.
