Abstract:
Lockheed Martin has five business areas with a diverse set of application architectures and priorities. The one common priority across all business areas is service availability. Lockheed Martin incorporated Service Mapping into their ITOM implementation in order to improve service availability by exposing the Event Management Dashboard. In order to succeed, they knew that the project could not be another "top-down, centrally executed initiative." As such, they considered participation by the business area application teams to be critical. This session will share some of the advantages and challenges of moving the Service Mapping functions closer to the application owners and the business.
