Hi People,
Is it possible to get PDI with a better test data. Particularly when i want to test the functionalities of SAM / HAM.
How can i import more realistic and reliable test data into instance?

Hi YASHIK,
AFAIK, there isn't a more realistic data than the provided demo data.
I think the demo data is just to get user started. The PDI is provided so users themselves would be able to enter their more realistic data and test functionalities.
Demo data is fine but each company has their own requirements that may differ. I personally found it better to try to enter some data myself and learn from the experience. In actual implementation, it not just the data that's important but also rules on how data should be entered and steps on how they should be entered. These won't come just be looking at demo data or somebody's else rules and steps.
I've also found the forum to be a good place to ask questions when I get stuck.

Hi
When you install the plugin ,make sure you Activate plugin with demo data. This gives some good real data to start with.
Else, for data import there are two things to look into:
1) INSERTION:
When you use import entitlements and download template, fill it and import then it will insert records.
2) Updation:
When you download template you will see a note that use update template to update data.
So what you should do to update the entitlement is follow below process:
1) Open table i.e. Software Entitlement
2) Right Click on any column as below and click on import:
3) If you want to update the data then click on update as below:
Once you click on Create Excel Template then you will find that it will download all records and will have sysid column as the last column in downloaded excel sheet. When you again load it, it will use the sys id to update the record in table.
Dont edit the sysid column
Mark my answer correct & Helpful, if Applicable.
Thanks,
Sandeep
