Hi All,
We recently moved to Tokyo from Rome, we skipped San Diego. But when I try to change the size of tables in a knowledge article, it doesn't seem to let me change the shape of it in any way. i.e. I can't change the width of any of the columns or diagonally resize the table... When I hover over the corners or any of the column borders the cursor icon doesn't change to indicate that it can be resized by dragging.
All I get is a faint blue border appear around the table which I can't interact with:
Am I missing something? Do you need to resize exclusively via CSS now?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Lauren,
Firstly thank you so much for sharing your experience - I found it insightful! 😊 Having to use word each time you want to format a table sounds like such a pain! Although this works, I hope we don't have to do this. In Rome we were able to drag and reshape tables exactly the way that Kim shows in her GIF and it is so incredibly easy that I would really like to avoid doing it any other way.
@Kim27 This is EXACTLY what we were able to do in Rome and i'm a bit mythed as to why this functionality appears to be gone after upgrading to Tokyo... strange. Did you have to do anything to re-enable it after the upgrade or are you aware of any settings that need to be enabled.
Thanks everyone,
Chris

Hi, Chris! Haha! I can see where it might sound like that, but it's not really. Most of our stakeholders submit their articles in Word anyway. It's sort of six of one, half dozen of the other, as the saying goes. If I'm formatting a table and making it look exactly how I want it to look, it's all the same whether I'm changing borders, creating headers, etc., in Word vs. ServiceNow. (We format for style - and it's usually to create a more aesthetically pleasing grouping or list vs. putting in data tables or something like that.) But if you're just putting up plain data tables, yes, I can see where that would be an extra step.

We have recently upgraded to Tokyo and have always used the method above to resize tables. Can confirm that it is still working like this since the upgrade. Didn't have to enable anything or change any settings.

I'm able to size/resize as shown in the GIF and we are on Tokyo. Maybe open a case with SNOW Support?

Hi Chris,
Two things:
I can't see the ribbon in the snapshot so I'm wondering if your field is set to HTML or plain text. If it was changed to or is set to plain text the table can't be edited. Can you post a screenshot of the ribbon too? Thanks!
Secondly, when we upgraded to San Diego, we had issues with TinyMCE such as using the alt mouse click popped up the message to create a link instead of the menu to copy, paste, and so on. TinyMCE released a new version that SN implemented without turning off a new TinyMCE plugin that causes this. SN told us TinyMCE is working as designed - no help there. I went to TinyMCE and found out about the plugin. I don't know if there's a TinyMCE plugin affecting tables like what affected the mouse click menu option that we experienced but it might be worth looking into if you can't find any other reason and SN tells you it's working as designed.
