Can you disable article templates for specific KB's only?

Hi all

We have a number of Knowledge Bases and a number of templates which are shared across all the Knowledge Bases. Is there a way to limit/change which templates are viewed/accessed in particular ones?

For example, the IT Knowledge Base doesn't need to see the HR article templates and vice versa.

Hi @Keszia

This is generally not possible for out of the box ServiceNow because you generally pick a template before you pick knowledgebase for an article. However, you can do this if you use Amaze by Intellective. Then you can create really nice designed templates, categorize them and show/hide them based on any criteria in ServiceNow. Amaze has tons of other features besides just awesome templates. For example: you can have tabs, accordions and carousels in KB articles, You can also embed files such as word, excel pdfs etc.

If you don't want a specific template to display for a KB, you should remove the template from the list of available templates for that KB. You can do so as follows:

  1. Click on the article template tab.
  2. Select "Edit"
  3. Add or remove the templates you wish to display for that specific KB and click Save.

  4. When I create a new KA, You can see only 4 of the 6 templates available.

    I hope this helps!
