Impact of switching to Knowledge Management Service Portal as an upgrade customer

I just want other inputs on this one. Based on reviewing the documentations and the academy session videos in relation to this topic, it seems that what will the change do will just change the redirect content of the homepage module of knowledge. 
Is it safe to assume that there will be no other changes aside from the change of redirected homepage in homepage module?
Is it the only affected module of the system property (sn_km_portal.glide.knowman.serviceportal.enable_redirect)?
Since it was also clarified in the academy session that redirect to articles that is saved in favorites won't be affected, won't there be other issues since it will now redirect to another article view?
