For the subscription feature, is there a way to limit subscription feature to specific knowledgebases or articles.
Where would we configure this.

What's your use case? Of course you can, but it would mean that you have to customize it on every possible way they can be subscribed. And KA subscription is just to keep you informed on changes. If someone wants to be informed, why limit it? It could even cause extra questions coming in to the servicedesk on why they can do it with article x and not with article y.

Our testing showed users that do not have access to the article get notices that the article has been updated as they have subscribed to the knowledgebase. We would like the subscription feature to apply to only articles the users have access to based on the User Criteria on the article.

And you have checked the knowledge article's can and can't read settings, ensuring the test user's role or criteria are set accordingly so they can see the knowledge articles they should have access to and can't see those they don't? You might also want to do a health checkup on the subscription logic.

I think you should limit the possibility to subscribe to a complete knowledge base. It doesn't make sense to be updated on every single article within a KB.
