Restrict available Can Read/ Cannot Read options for Authors on Knowledge Article/ Block level?

I've tried to search an answer to the following question:

Can one display only selected (limit) user criteria options for Knowledge Authors to see and select under the "Can Read" and "Cannot Read" on a Knowledge Article and Knowledge Block form level?

We have currently very large number of available User Criteria which makes it difficult for Authors to understand which Can Read/ Cannot Read criteria to choose in cases they'd need to restrict the visibility to the content on article/ block level. Instead, we would like to display only certain User Criteria options for articles/ blocks created within certain Knowledge Bases. Is this possible and how?

Yes - you can do it at the knowledge base under 'Additional Can Read Criteria' but I am not sure if I can do this because it's been customised or not.  I can only tell you it's do-able
