I've been working with my internal SNOW support team to try and get the Spell Check functionality working in Google Chrome.
I've followed all the documentation online to make sure that spell checking is enabled. It works in other web sites.
In Service Now however when I right click on a word that's red underlined, or anywhere in the text field of a KB article, the SNOW "Insert Link" context menu comes up instead of the default context menu with the spell checking.
Our internal SNOW team says this is a Google problem. Google says this is a Service Now problem. See attached screen shot of an example.

+1 This is a pain point for my team as well. I appreciate the shortcut, but it does seem to impede spellcheck.

It's actually the TinyMCE toolbar and how ServiceNow has integrated it. There are a few other threads on the topic.
The quick solution is to use Ctrl-Right-Click and then the typical right-click context menu will appear. The TinyMCE right-click menu is supposed to include Cut, Copy, Paste but for some reason SNOW blocks it. They block a few other features of the TinyMCE toolbar on purpose too. I have contacted SNOW Support on a couple of them and they say 'by design'.

Sorry, I don't have a solution to the issue. I encountered it as well and started to use the free version of Grammarly as an alternative.

I also use the Grammarly browser plug-in and it does a great job with spell check as well as grammar suggestions, avoiding the right-click issue entirely!
