Every organization produces a constant stream of content—marketing materials, presentations, policy documents, training assets, and external communications. Without a structured legal review process, that content can introduce regulatory, intellectual property, privacy, or compliance risk.

The Legal Content Review workflow, included with ServiceNow Legal Service Delivery, provides a centralized, automated way for employees to submit content for legal review while giving legal teams the tools they need to review, collaborate, and respond efficiently.

📘 What Is the Legal Content Review Workflow?

The Legal Content Review application enables employees to submit documents and materials for legal review through a guided intake experience. Legal teams receive, review, collaborate on, and respond to these requests using a consistent, auditable workflow.

The application supports structured intake, practice‑area‑based routing, centralized document handling, and reusable response templates for consistent communication.

🔍 Why It Matters

Unreviewed or inconsistently reviewed content can expose organizations to significant risk. The Legal Content Review workflow helps reduce legal and compliance risk, improve the employee experience, increase legal team efficiency, and maintain a defensible audit trail.

▶️ How It Works

  1. Employees submit a Legal Content Review request from the Legal Service Portal using a structured intake form.
  2. Requests are routed by practice area, such as Privacy, Compliance, or Intellectual Property.
  3. Legal fulfillers review content in the Legal Counsel Center, collaborate internally, and request additional information if needed.
  4. Responses are delivered using predefined templates, and all activity is tracked for audit purposes.

Key Features

  • Structured intake forms tailored to content type
  • Practice area–based routing and ownership
  • Centralized handling of documents and attachments
  • Reusable response templates for consistent communication

📝 Example Scenario: Marketing Content Review

A marketing employee submits a presentation for external use. The request is routed to the appropriate practice area, reviewed by legal, feedback is provided using a response template, and the final decision is recorded in the system.
