Hello community,
1.When you buy either EC - employee centre or employee central pro and you build a unified portal for all the employees. This portal can be accessed through web and mobile through browser without the need of now mobile app right ?
2.Now mobile license is different from EC/EC-PRO and you need a new development cycle to bring that app to live and development cycle for ec/ecpro cannot be reused . ( offcourse the ec/ecpro structure / content will have to be replicated again on Now mobile app)
Can someone clarify this please

Hi jcdep,
Short answer : yes.
Long answer :
You do not need the native Now Mobile app to access your portal on a mobile device.
Employee Center (or Employee Center Pro) are built on Service Portal framework.
And this framework is highly responsive by design : if an employee opens Chrome, Safari, or any standard browser on their phone or tablet and navigates to your portal URL, the UI will automatically scale and adapt to their screen size.
They can submit requests, read knowledge articles, complete tasks, etc... directly from the mobile browser.
Regarding nowMobile now,
Now Mobile is not a separately licensed product.
The app itself is free to download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Your ability to use certain features within the app depends on your underlying ServiceNow licenses (like ITSM, HRSD, or your EC Pro license). If your users are licensed to use EC Pro on the web, they are generally licensed to access those same capabilities via the Now Mobile app.
However, You do not have to replicate your content or structure.Your Unified Taxonomy, Service Catalog items, Knowledge Base articles, and backend workflows are centrally located. When you build a catalog item or publish an article for Employee Center, it is automatically available to be surfaced in the Now Mobile app. You manage the data in one place.
While you don't rebuild the content, you do have to configure the mobile experience. If you built custom Service Portal widgets for EC, those will not magically translate to Now Mobile. You will need a separate configuration cycle to set up mobile navigation tabs, applets, and native mobile screens so the shared backend content displays correctly within the native app experience.
hope this helps
