I was wondering if it's possible to display the notification bell icon in the header bar, next to where the profile picture and global search icon is usually located (on Android, at least).
The reason I'm asking is that I'd like to not waste any navigation bar space for a notifications tab, but I also don't want it to be hidden in the "More" menu that acts as navigation bar overflow. Ideally, the bell icon would just be at the top in the header bar on the homescreen - kind of like this:
I don't have much experience with mobile app development, so before I'm diving in, I'd like to ask if anybody knows if this is even possible, and if it'd be a rather complex task, or straightforward.
