Reference field "EnableSearch" attribute not working in input form screen in Mobile App

Hi,

 

I have seen several posts regarding the search functionality for the Reference Field input type in an input form screen, however, none of them seem to address my specific problem.

 

I am able to make the search field visible ("EnableSearch" = true, not 1), and I am able to type in a search string, but I never get any results no matter what I search for. The search engine itself seems to be somehow broken. Has anyone encountered the same problem?

 

I have tried to alter the attribute "SearchType" to "contains" instead of "start_with", but it doesn't fix the problem.
