Has anyone run into the error "Invalid source or target instance Id" when using the Copy Smart Assessment Response action in ServiceNow?
I’m trying to copy responses between assessments, but this error keeps popping up and blocking the process. I’ve checked the obvious things like instance references and record availability, but no luck so far.
Would appreciate any insights on:
What typically causes this error
Any configuration or data issues to look for
Known fixes or workarounds
Thanks in advance!

Hi @ujjwalababa
I have checked the documentation and make sure you have - "Both the source assessment that you’re copying from and the target assessment for reusing responses must be based on the same template. The target assessment must be in an Open state"
More details - https://www.servicenow.com/docs/r/governance-risk-compliance/smart-assessment-engine/copying-respons...

Thank you for your inputs on this. I went through the documentation, but I am trying to set these assessments dynamically. Not sure how to dynamically set the source assessment and target assessment? I was under the impression that this should work for all assessments, but right now it seems to apply only to assessments I am selecting as source and target assessment. Is there a way to make it consistent across all assessments under common assessment template?

Hi @ujjwalababa
1. Ensure - both the source assessment that you’re copying from and the target assessment for reusing responses must be based on the same template.
2. The target assessment must be in an Open state.
3.Assumption is that you are using system admin privileges
4.
