Hi all,
on the Work Order Task (wm_task) form, I added the Account from the related Work Order using standard dot-walking:
work_order.account
I did not create a new Account field on wm_task.
In the classic/native form, the dot-walked Account behaves like a normal reference field and provides the standard reference functionality, including:
- Search a referenced Account
- Open/preview the referenced Account record
In CSM/FSM Configurable Workspace, the Account value is displayed, but these reference actions are missing.
Additionally, I would like the dot-walked Account field to be read-only on the WOT, because it should only display the Account of the related Work Order. The original account field on the Work Order should remain editable.
Is there an OOTB way in Configurable Workspace to:
- display work_order.account on the WOT
- make the dot-walked field read-only only on the WOT
- still allow users to open/preview the referenced Account record
- provide the standard reference search/lookup functionality
- avoid creating a duplicate Account field on wm_task
- avoid custom scripting or custom Workspace components if possible
The same dot-walked field works with the expected reference controls in the classic UI.
