hey @AlhussainiM
Themes available under
System UI > Themes
are legacy (classic UI) themes. These themes apply only to the traditional ServiceNow interface such as classic forms, lists, UI Pages, and the application navigator. They control basic styling like header colors, fonts, and navigation appearance.
These themes do not affect any Next Experience workspaces or UI Builder applications.
UX Themes available under
Now Experience Framework > Themes
are modern themes designed for Next Experience. These themes apply to UI Builder based applications such as Agent Workspace, CSM Workspace, HR Workspace, and any custom workspace. UX Themes control branding, colors, typography, spacing, and also support light and dark modes. UX Themes are attached to an Experience, not globally to the platform.
In simple terms
System UI Themes are for the old UI and are mostly for backward compatibility.
UX Themes are for Next Experience and are the correct choice for workspaces.
Example
If you update a theme under System UI, you will see changes only in classic forms and lists.
If you update a UX Theme, you will see changes immediately in workspaces like CSM or Agent Workspace.
