Filtering out User Data in NowAssist Virtual Agent on Service Portal

I have an assistant set up in Conversational Interfaces. I have configured it with an information source, which is a set of knowledge articles. When I click "Test the Virtual Agent" in the Conversational Interfaces menu, it is working properly. Specifically, when I ask it "Who is <user name>", it responds that it doesn't know the answer, which is the intended behavior.
Under Display Experience in Conversational Interfaces, I have made the agent available on the default Service Portal (sp). When I go to the service portal and ask the agent "Who is <user name>", it responds telling me the user's title, as well as contact information, which is not desired behavior.
What is the reason for the difference in behavior between testing the virtual agent and using it on the service portal? How can I configure the service portal version to behave in the same way as the version that I get when I test the agent?
