Microsoft XCC shows as “Microsoft” in Search Source but results display as “Web Crawler” – can this

We have configured Microsoft XCC (Microsoft External Connector) and added it as a Search Source, where it correctly appears as “Microsoft”.

However, when users perform a search, the individual search results still display the source as “Web Crawler”, instead of “Microsoft”.

Is there any supported way to:

• Change or override the “Web Crawler” label shown in search results, or
• Make the results display the Search Source name (Microsoft) instead?

Or is this inbuilt / system-defined behavior when using Microsoft XCC with Web Crawler, with no option to customize the result-level source name?

If this is expected behavior, are there any recommended workarounds (metadata, result templates, display fields, etc.) to make the source clearer to end users?

Any guidance or documentation references would be appreciated.
