Performance Analytics Naming Convention Impact & Best Practices

I am a new ServiceNow user in the process of taking over an underutilized Performance Analytics program for HRSD.  and am looking for some guidance on the impact of implementing a naming convention and best practices going forward. Specifically, I would like to understand the following: 

1. What is the best approach to standardizing the naming convention of existing artifacts (widget, indicator, breakdown)? Will updating the name make changes to all instances of that artifact or will changes need to be made everywhere that artifact is used? For example, if I change the name of a breakdown source, will associated breakdowns be updated along with the dashboards where that breakdown is used? 

2. Is there a way to see the cascading impact of this sort of change--is there a list where you can see all the places a particular artifact is used or referenced? 

Any guidance, product information, experience you can share would be greatly appreciated.

For question 1 you only need to change it once, as performance analytics consist of references indicator to indicator source or widget to indicator. Furthermore, if you change the name in a widget, it will reflect on all dashboard utilizing that widget. 

For question 2 then there are no easy way. Off course there are multiple tables that consist of the PA data,  otherwise dependency assessment would be the best option. Here you can select e.g. an automated indicator where you can select "used by":
