Hi All,

I lead the Analytics Practice at an Elite ServiceNow partner in UK&I called Unifii.

Which tool to use for reporting and analytics of ServiceNow can become confusing.

I often see organisations restricting themselves to limited report and dashboard functionality because they don't understand Performance Analytics (even though they may have licensing entitlement). On the flip side, some organisations that don't have PA entitlement are missing out on capability that they can utilise with reporting alone, but not aware of it.

I wanted to share part 1 of my new blog with the community where I attempt to illustrate some points that are useful to understand, especially when thinking about how to apply reporting requirements within your organisation.

These are topics that I often talk about and explain with my customers as I'm assessing requirements and positioning which reports/metrics/KPI's should fall into the reporting bucket or the PA bucket (and also which need to be carried out offline or within another BI tool).

It's also important to understand coming into ServiceNow reporting, some of the limitations that exist within Performance Analytics, that may mean Reporting / Dashboards are a better choice for some requirements that could technically be solved in either capability.

Here's part 1. I'd love to hear your comments and high level areas that you are not clear on:
