Accessing the list view from the report

Hey guys,

We have a requirement to create a dashboard with several reports, and from those reports we need to access a particular view of the table were we are retrieving the data (need to show some columns that are not in the default view).

Our first idea was to use a drilldown, but using a list view from the report doesn't let me export the data, I can see the menu but it doesn't appear to be working, so we need to go with another option... So, without the drilldown, I'm accessing the default view for the table. Can I change that? I was thinking a view rule, but I cannot think of a particular condition to do it. Maybe a DB view? Never used them, so I don't know if creating a new one just for this is a proper use of them (doesn't look like it).

I'm not sure why the export doesn't work on a drill down, but did you try setting the Drilldown view setting on the report? This should set the view that the user is shown when they click on the values and go the list view.

Hi Adam,

Sorry for the delay, I've been caught up in other things. The export is not working in the dashboard, when I try to export from the report itself it is ok, but in the dashboard, it crashes. I'm not seeing the screen you are, I'm in Istanbul patch 10, maybe you are in Jakarta?

I have also another complication, and it is that we are using multiple data sets, and the drilldowns are not working for them, they just work for the main table.

I'm using the new Report Designer, which has to be enable via a system property in Istanbul. In Jakarta, it is the default. I'm not sure if that option exists or not Istanbul.

Hey Adam,

In the end you were right, I had my head somewhere else, and I ended up using that option you showed me. I can't set you answer as the correct because I think I made a mistake and set the thread as conversation instead of question. I don't know if we can change it, or we'll just leave the thread open.
