business_stakeholder role data access

Hello, we are using the business_stakeholder role for users in our environment who just need to view data for the most part, but we noticed in the reporting team that the folds with that role can not download reports, dashboards and list view data. Wanted to reach out and see what role is needed for them to be able to download data from reports and list views (do not want to give them ITIL access)

Please let me know if you have any suggestions, thank you!

Hi,

Can you give a bit more information as to what you mean by download the data...do you mean export?

If so, checkout this documentation and the roles specific to ensure they have one of these: https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/rome-now-intelligence/page/use/reporting/task/t_ExportAListReport...

Hi @Tsura Andreeva ,

ITIL role should be enough, if not able to download still then give report_admin role as well. Mark my answer as correct if that helps.

One issue I see is that ITIL role is a higher subscription cost than Business Stakeholder - making them ITIL users would seem to defeat the purpose of the Business Stakeholder role in terms of managing cost in the platform.

That said if ITIL role is the only available solution the original poster should understand that that comes at a higher cost.

as stated we do not want to give them ITIL role that costs more per license compare to the business_stakeholder, I think we will try using the report_user

Sure, I doubt you can download reports or save report with that role in reports module but give a try.
