Create a Red/Yellow/Green Stoplight widget

Does anyone have any suggestions/best practices for creating a Red/Yellow/Green stoplight-like widget using PA (or base Reporting) for display on a dashboard? We have a portfolio which contains several programs, each of which has an Overall Status (Red/Yellow/Green). i'm attempting to build an Exec dashboard for our CIO & staff which would contain a widget showing a stoplight-like widget (or even a single red, yellow, or green dot) for each of the programs. The dashboard will also contain typical score widgets for KPIs from other processes (Incident, Problem, etc.). Any suggestions or examples would be most helpful.

Hi Doug,

You can use field styles which will appear on the list similar to the list figure below. Those are often helpful for conveying quick status information. Very easy to configure and maintain.

It should also be noted that you can personalize your list layout to use the classic field styling to use solid cell background coloring instead of the dots. Use the cog menu in the upper right (UI16) and uncheck Modern Cell Styles in the Lists section.

Coloring then shows up like this... I kind of prefer this myself, but I'm an old timer.

What version of ServiceNow are you using?   I want to say something like this was supposed to be coming for Istanbul, or maybe Jakarta, to the Program Manager and Portfolio Manager dashboards, based on rolling up the most recent Status Reports submitted for each Project.
