Hai @praveenn4
This usually happens because Dashboard report widgets and normal list/report views do not always use the same personalized column configuration.
When you added the report to the Dashboard using filters, the dashboard widget may have inherited:
Different list layout settings
Saved visualization configuration
Personalized column preferences
Report source configuration
Regarding “Reset to column default”:
When you clicked it, ServiceNow attempted to revert to the system default column layout. If no proper default list layout was configured for that view/table/report, the selected columns can appear blank or removed temporarily.
You can try the following:
Open the report directly (not from dashboard)
Configure the desired columns again
Save the report
Re-add or refresh the dashboard widget
Also check:
Whether the dashboard is using a different view
Personalized List settings (sys_user_preference)
Report visualization type
Interactive filters affecting displayed columns
Sometimes clearing personalization and reloading the dashboard also helps.
If this resolves the issue, please mark the response as Helpful.

Hi @praveenn4
If selecting “Reset to column defaults” removes all columns, it usually indicates that the default layout for that report or table is either empty or corrupted.
To restore the columns:
- Go to Reports > View / Run and open the relevant report.
- Click the Gear icon (Configure List Layout) on the list view.
- In the layout configuration window, move the required fields from Available to Selected.
- Click Save.
The dashboard may be displaying a cached or user-specific version of the report.
To resolve this:
- Open the report directly instead of accessing it through the dashboard widget. Navigate to Reports > View / Run.
- Open the required report and verify that the correct columns are selected under the Configure section.
- Click Save to update the report.
- Return to the dashboard and refresh the browser page to load the latest report configuration.
If it is happening for specific user
