Data Visualization designer query - Australia version

when i select 'Create New Visualization', the visualization type is set as 'Single Score' by default and i get the message "Unable to display content"(as shown in screenshot). This message disappears only when either the data source or visualization type is updated.
Is this an expected behavior?

Hi  @Sneha5 ,

This is the default behaviour, when you create a new visualisation, the default option is "Single Score". But no data is configured yet. Any visualisation type would need data source (table, filter, pa indicator etc.) to compute the metric value. Until you provide the data source or metric the component has nothing to render, so the message.

A better approach  -- especially since they just clicked the button to create a new viz -- would be to present a message to the user stating, "To configure your new visualization, use the options along the right side to set a data source and criteria."

Instead of guiding folks toward the solution, someone chose to create a poor user experience.

Hi @Sneha5 ,

Yes ,this is OOB behavior.

This is the default screen where 3 options are available -

Refer servicenow documentation: Overview of data visualization types

If you select single score , you will get that message as no data is configured at this point.
