Do Formula indicators not work with breakdowns

I have a formula indicator and I added a breakdown. However when I try to select that breakdown on a dashboard the formula indicator disappears. I'm working on a dashboard where I need to count all Task that we use in ServiceNow and put the in one widget. So once I get the counts all new Incidents, problem tasks, catalog task, change tasks, etc. I need to combine them into one count. But I also want to be able to do a breakdown by group.

Did you add the Breakdown to both Indicators within the Formula Indicator and also add the Breakdown to the Formula Indicator itself?

I experienced the same issue and haven't figured it out yet. However, I don't think the sequence of adding/removing breakdowns would make a difference - data is collected through jobs daily.
