Does anyone know how to bulk share reports that are on a Dashboard?

One of our department heads built out a great dashboard for their department. They want to share it (and all the reports) to another department. Is there a simple way that i'm missing to update all the report permissions on a dashboard quickly. I know how to share the dashboard, but that does no good if the reports aren't shared.

The only (quick) way I have, is to create a group, and share each report to that group; add all the recipients to the group.
Share the dashboard with the group.
When someone else needs to see the dashboard, just add them to the group.

Would love for someone to come along with a quicker share option from within the dashboard.... 🙂

Hi Ilo,

All the reports cannot be shared at the same time to different departments. permissions have to be given one by one.

As Reports are built from various tables so there are multiple ACL's involved which prevent the viewing of data of different Users/Groups/Departments to the same report. Hence this is done to prevent security of various Reports ( and in indirect terms the data of tables!!).

So you have to do one-by-one.Read the following doc to know this deeply: Restrict Report Creation Access

In my opinion, this is a huge miss by ServiceNow, I'm sure there are multiple ways to provide users the ability to bulk update reports w/o exposing certain tables.  I've come across Dashboards that have over 100 different reports and the owner is leaving the company and has to go into each report one by one to switch ownership. Completely impacts the user experience. Just a thought.
