Element Filters

I'm new to servicenow platform and work at UNT, Denton. Can anybody brief me about what element filters does and how we use them?

Element filters remove choices from a breakdown on the visualization side.  They the scores are still collected but allow the user to filter them to something meaningful.  This is very useful with a dynamic element filter.  For example, I'll often use "My Team" which is a filter with the conditions where "manager" "is (dynamic)" "me".  This allows me to collect scores for all assigned to but quickly filter to just the users I want to see (my team).

Element filters on one piece of the puzzle when delivering a great user experience.

Some of our performance analytical widgets like, List widgets, Workbench widgets are not supporting Element filtering but at the same time, score widgets and Timeseries widgets are supporting,is there any alternative option/ Solution  for including element filtering in Workbench widgets?
