I’m new to Platform Analytics and this is my first time creating a dashboard from scratch for Incident KPIs.
For my first widget, I want to create an “Incidents Created” single score Data Visualization report where I can show COUNT of this week incidents created and compare this week’s incidents with last week’s.
For example, let’s say today is Wednesday. I would like to see:
Number of incidents created this week from Monday to Wednesday
Number of incidents created last week from Monday to Wednesday
The percentage increase or decrease compared to last week
For example:
This week (Mon–Wed): 120 incidents
Last week (Mon–Wed): 100 incidents
Change: +20%
I’m also wondering if it would make more sense to compare the current week-to-date with the entire previous week (Monday–Sunday) instead. I’ve tried using some of the existing indicators, but I’m not getting the expected results.
Could someone please help me understand how to set this up step by step in Platform Analytics? Mainly:
How to get the current week-to-date count (Monday to today)
How to get the same period from the previous week
How to calculate the percentage increase/decrease
Which indicator/formula/filter should be used for this
How you would recommend displaying this on the dashboard
I’m still learning Platform Analytics, so any example or step-by-step guidance would be really helpful.
