Interactive Filter - "All" option selecting all values not filtered list

I am using an Interactive Filter to filter a dashboard based on Incident Assignment Groups. I have configured the filter so that only the 19 Assignment Groups I want users to select from are available out of the 80 possible ones.

The issue I am running into is that if a user selects "All" (which is an option you can not remove, there is an open Idea for it) then ALL 80 possible assignment groups in the system are selected, not just the filtered list of 19.

Also, if you uncheck "All" and try to select all the 19 items individually, when you check the 19th it auto-checks "All" and then again shows data for all 80 assignment groups.

Does anyone know a solution for this?

Hello,

You need to have the Filter Conditions in both the Interactive Filter and the Reports that are on your Dashboard.  Both have to be set for it to work the way you are looking for. Set your Assignment Group Filter in your reports to the same that it is in your Interactive Filter.

The challenge with that is I am reusing those generic reports in other dashboard each with their own filtered interactive filter. I would have to create copies of each of the 20 reports for each of the dashboards (about 8).

It kinda defeats the purpose of the interactive filter.

And of course maintenance - if we add a new Assignment Group I would have to edit both the filter AND all of the reports individually.

You could actually use a Report Source for the main source for all of your reports or some of your reports based on the filtering that you needed to do.  Then you would only have to change the Report Source when adding a new Assignment Group.
