Is it possible for a person without PA_Viewer to view a PA dashboard or is there a way for a person without PA_Viewer to view a dashboard?

We have created a PA dashboard, but the person viewing it does not have PA_Viewer. Is there any way for them to view the dashboard without the PA_Viewer role.

Hi

for view the PA dashboard it require the roles to create, edit, and view dashboards.

  • Users must have the pa_viewer role to view dashboards.
  • Users with the pa_admin and pa_power_user roles can create and edit dashboards.

Widget ACLs override dashboard ACLs. If a user can view a dashboard but does not have ACLs to view one of its widgets, an empty widget is displayed. ACLs also apply to data that is displayed in report and Performance Analytics widgets.

ACLs are not applied to Performance Analytics widgets that are added to dashboards. Any user who can view a dashboard can view all its Performance Analytics widgets. Performance Analytics widgets can only be added to dashboards by users with the pa_power_user, pa_admin, and admin roles.

If it help mark helpful or correct

Thanks and regards

Anil

Any user with a role can create a dashboard.  The dashboard_admin role has access to all dashboards.

I would recommend referencing the docs which spell out all the permissions involved:

There is no such thing as a PA Dashboard, only a Dashboard (ignore the URL).  To have them view the dashboard, just share it with them.  There are some Performance Analytics widgets that do require pa_viewer (text analytics and some others) but generally, you do not need pa_viewer.  You do need read access to any reports that are on the dashboard.

If the dashboard is shared with you, you can see it.

Hi Michael,

Users without a role can view dashboards that have been shared with them, but cannot create or edit dashboards, you just need to publish the dashboard and share with the user,

if user is outside of your organization you just need to share the URL and the user will see the dashboard but if the user wants to edit or drilldown the dashboard then he/she must have the specific role,

please check Dashboard permission below link for better understanding:
