Platform Analytics Migration Questions

Washington DC Patch 0 Hotfix 1

Trying to get answers to the following questions. Posted in the Developers forum but no answers so far.

  • We have many chart type reports on dashboards. For some of these reports, the data table is displayed after the chart. In the migrated versions, the data table is no longer included. I do not see any configuration option to display the data table for chart type data visualizations under Platform Analytics. Is this not possible?
  • We have several dashboards that include a knowledge article (set up as an iframe and included on the dashboard as a content block). The way the knowledge article is displayed on the migrated dashboards is not easily readable; formatted as a small square with both vertical and horizontal scroll bars.  Is there any way to add a knowledge article to a dashboard in Platform Analytics so that it is actually readable?
  • How can a visual task board be added to a dashboard in Platform Analytics?

Some additional questions:

  • We did a full migration to Platform Analytics and activated it. I didn't notice any issues with default dashboards for non-admin users. But for admin users with a default dashboard that is in compatibility mode, the dashboard is displayed with a link to open the migrated dashboard. Why is the migrated dashboard not displayed by default for admin users?
  • For dashboards with content in compatibility mode, an informational message is displayed followed by a fair amount of whitespace followed by the compatibility mode content. Is there any way to clean this up? i.e., suppress the informational message and reduce/eliminate the unnecessary whitespace.

We cloned our production instance (Vancouver Patch 5) to our development instance and are in the process of upgrading our development instance to Washington DC Patch 1 Hotfix 1.

Thank you

Hi @mah1 ,
first of all thank you for testing and providing feedback on the migration.

1. The data table is under implementation as a configurable option on the Data visualizations and we expect as a next step to update the migration script to support it.
2. I will look with the team if there is an option for the current Rich Text component to display the iframed knowledge articles. Otherwise, a workaround would be to use the iframe component in Technical dashboards that use the UI Builder technology.
3. I assume you are also iframing the Virtual Task board in the content blocks? Right now the Technical dashboards seem the only solution or in case you are planning to migrate you could have the CoreUI dashboards entirely iframed in the Platform Analytics experience (rollback as we call it).
4. Yes, we currently give first access to the admins to the CoreUI dashboards and then navigate to the migrated version. We can review internally the current UX and see if this is not required to maybe give the navigation in the other direction, only on need.
5. We have recently fixed the issue regarding the iframe white space and should be delivered in the next couple months. The info message can be hidden once you edit the migrated dashboards.

Thank you and let me know for further questions.

Thank you!  very helpful

Hi,

Is there a way to roll back to previous version? We are facing some issues after we migrate all the dashboards to Platform Analytics and now we wanted to roll back.
Is it possible?

Thanks & Regards,
Vinod Kumar.

It is my understanding that there is a way to rollback the migration but you need to contact NOW Support in order to do so.

Also, I think there is a way to rollback individual reports/dashboards via the migration center.
