Project Interactive Filter

I was able to create an interactive filter (Reference) to the pm_project table and have a nice list of project names listed within the drop-down, but setting up an interactive filter reference on the Project table's Project isn't available in order to actually filter the Project reports once a Project is chosen from the drop-down.

I also tried setting up the Interactive Filter against the task table where Task Type is project, and setting up the Interactive Filter Reference still doesn't allow us to choose Project Number or Name from the Project Table to allow the Project reports to be filtered by the Project number chosen.

Anyone have any thoughts on how to accomplish this?

Ideally, we'd set up the Interactive Filter against the pm_project table to allow for actual Project names to be listed in the Filter drop-down rather than project #'s like what gets displayed when we set up the filter against the Task table, so any thoughts you can share on how to accomplish this with a working Project table Interactive Filter Reference would be appreciated. Thank-you!

Thank you Justin. I am looking for similar filter too. Is it even possible to do an interactive filter on a text field without custom filters?

I have been racking my brain to come up with a solution to this problem, but have not come up with a great solution. Interactive filters need to be on reference fields and the project number in the pm_project table is a text field.
One idea is to create a report on a table that references the pm_project table (ie pm_project_portfolio) and dot walk to the fields on the project table that you want to see. That way the interactive filter on the pm_projects will limit the records on the pm_project_portfolio report, but the report is actually showing the matching data from the pm_projects table. The concern is that if there is not a matching record in the portolio table then the project data won't be displayed. Hopefully this makes sense.

I tried to specify "Task type" values, but upon saving the conditions/filter/query, those reverted to un-specified values.

I then tried to specify Number contains | does not contain a Task type characters prefixes. But, that didn't appear to return desired selection of records.

I found a work-around that appears to provide desired records from the [task] table: In different OR sections, I specified specific conditions distinct to each respective Task type. For example: Incident.Incident state is one of {list}
