"Too many elements matched the criteria" on PA breakdown?

Hello,

In Performance Analytics, I have an indicator based on new incidents.   The indicator has two breakdowns, one in regards to configuration item and the other in regards to responsible support group.   The configuration item breakdown is giving an error of "Too many elements matched the criteria" and returns no results.   The support group breakdown works fine.   Anyone ever seen this?

Try go to Performance Analytics>System>Properties where there are a number of Performance Analytics Properties that can be modified (increased) if you have admin access.


On occasion I have made adjustments when I received similar errors in the data collection logs (5 of these determine various element limitations)
        1. The maximum number of elements of a breakdown in Scoresheet


        2. Maximum number of breakdown elements in scorecard lists


        3. Number of elements in the breakdowns charts


        4. Maximum number of breakdown elements for a breakdown to be included in data collection


        5. Maximum number of elements produced by combining two breakdowns to be included in data collection


Error log records should give you a more detailed indication of which property would require modification from the default setting.You can find more info here > Data collector properties. Hope this helps.

We've increased some of those but are still receiving the error.   I'm concerned raising those too high will impact performance of the system.


Increasing the Maximum number of breakdown elements in scorecard lists to 2000, resolved the issue.   We also raised the Maximum number of elements produced by combining two breakdowns to be included in data collection to 3 million.   This resolved a warning we were receiving.   Thus far no performance issues have been seen.
