report number of case in each status by month

Hello,

I have the following requirement:

I need to create a column report that shows, for each month, the number of cases that were in each status during that month. Specifically:

  • Number of cases in Open status each month

  • Number of cases in Closed status each month

  • Number of cases in New status each month

  • Number of cases in Awaiting Info status each month

My question is about the indicator source.
If I create an indicator source with a condition based on “Created on = Today’s date,” I only see the cases that were created in that particular month.

Which type of indicator source should I use to get the correct monthly breakdown of cases by status?

There are OOTB metrics that keep track of states. Could you do a report on the metric instances instead? On Incidents, that would show all instances of the Incident ever being in various states which you can filter to specific states.

Thank you Vimes,

But the customer has license of PA and would prefer to use indicators in order to have Kpi details screen in the dashboard.

Do you think there is a day to do It also with indicator or is possibile only with metrics?
