Hello All
I'm trying to create a simple year on year timeseries shown by month and it seems like I can't figure my head around it?
I managed to make it work by using the legacy widget, but that can't be added to a PA dashboard, which got me stuck.
When I view the KPI in the KPI view, I do get the YOY-Year on year option and it works as it should, but when I try to create a widget with similar view to the dashboard, there's simple no year on year option available or way to aggregate it as such.
Any tips would be appreciated.
Here's an example of how I need the Data Visualization/PA Widget to be, which I could not work out in there.

Hi Buddy,
Year-over-year works in KPI View because KPI View supports comparison modes like YOY. That same option simply doesn’t exist in PA dashboard widgets. Widgets can only plot whatever indicators you explicitly give them; they don’t have built-in logic to compare one year to another.
That’s why the legacy widget worked — legacy reporting handles YOY automatically — but it can’t be added to a PA dashboard.
The way PA expects you to do this is by being explicit:
Create one indicator for the current year
Create one indicator for the prior year
Use the same aggregation and monthly breakdown for both
Put both indicators on the same time-series widget
Each indicator becomes one line on the chart, which gives you the exact YOY view you’re after.
There’s no hidden setting or checkbox you’re missing. If you want YOY on a PA dashboard, multiple indicators is the supported approach

I feel like the solution has been worsen instead of improved from the legacy options. When I managed to configure a widget on the legacy option without even looking at the result and it turned out exactly as I needed first time, this new widget looks quite bad when put in comparison.
Thank you Matthew, I will try your suggested approach. 🙂
