What is does frequency control in indicators and indicator sources

Hi there

I am fairly new to PA, been have so far been successful in getting familiar with all the various components.   One area I don't seem to understand is the frequency valid

In indicator sources, I am guessing that the value is used to limit certain sources to the frequency selected in the indicator itself.

But for the indicator frequency, what effect is occurring when you select daily vs weekly etc.     I am trying to understand following

1) Does the frequency in the indicator effect how the indicator values will be displayed?

2) Does the frequency affect when the data is collected?   ( i am thinking no as I would guess this would be dictated by the related job? ie daily job)

3) If I have a daily job...and i had two identical indicators but one is daily frequency and the other is monthly, would the data collected by different?

Hello there,



1) The frequency of the indicator will match the frequency of the indicator source. So if you have 2 indicators using the same indicator source, the indicators will have the same frequency.



I believe that this also answer questions 2 and 3.
